Vanishing Point

One thing i learned in art class in elementary school was "vanishing points". This is a prime example of that on our drive to Utah. This is north of Farmington, NM, and South of Cortez, CO.

Driving

It might be hard to read, but the yelliw sign says leaving new mexico, and the brown one further back says welcome to colorful colorado, one of my most favorite signs anywhere! Not bad for holding your phone and the steering wheel going 70 mph and having to hit a button to take the picture.

Somewhere just south of Colorado

Fall and Winter

So we've had some colder weather lately, at least for Oklahoma. Highs have been in the high 40's lower 50's, which feels cold, but really isn't. Our heater started acting weird the other day, i had to mess around with the thermostat to get the heat to come on, then eventually it just didn't come on any more, great. It went out on the coldest night we've had so far, it got down to 21, but with the wind chill, 15. Luckily we have a really nice heater we have in Laney's room, so she was fine, and we doubled up blankets for us and the boys. Alecia called the hvac guy, since the furnace is only 7 months old, the guy didn't know what it was and said to call a different company. So the second day with no heat, and the second and even colder night later, the other company comes and spends 5 hours trying to figure it out. The guy even called in someone else to help figure it out. So merry christmas to us, we had to spend $500 for a $125 thermostat. I'm glad it took him 5 hours to figure it out. The furnace is only 7 months old, what could possibly go wrong with it? Nothing, it was the 20 year old dial thermostat, real genius there. Anyway, heat works better than ever now, you can actually feel heat now.

We hung Christmas lights outside the last two weekends, i'll have to take a picture so y'all can see our work. Our goal is to get more lights every year.

So my place of employment and the school I attend has a pretty good football team this year if I may say so. Stupid Iowa State is all I can say. Although, for those who watched on ABC, OSU kicked the trash out of OU. That was an awesome game! Bring on the Cardinal.

I mowed the lawn this morning. Yes it is December and I mowed the lawn. This is by far the latest i've ever mowed in the year. Got all the leaves off, and our yard is one of the best in the neighborhood!

I had a 20 page paper for my health care administration law class, got 97 out of 100, boo-ya! Lets just hope i can do that on the final on Wednesday.
